Responsibilities:

• Study, analyze and understand business requirements in context to business intelligence. Translate business needs to technical specifications.
• Develop and execute database queries (SQL) and conduct analyses.
• Design and map data models to shift raw data into meaningful insights. Build multi-dimensional data models.
• Utilize Power BI or Spotfire to build interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports.
• Write DAX/Python/IronPython expressions for custom solutions and integrate with base Power BI/Spotfire models.
• Implement deployment, scheduling and set data update policies.
• Conduct testing and troubleshooting. Evaluate and improve existing BI systems
• Develop and update technical documentation. Create visualizations and reports for requested projects.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field.
• Minimum 1 year of proven experience as a data engineer/scientist or in a similar role as a BI Developer. Industry experience is preferred.
• Data Wrangling – proficiency in handling imperfections in data.
• Programming Skills – some knowledge of statistical programming languages Python, and hands on experience database query languages like SQL.
• Ability to compose pipelines for data science models.
• Advance knowledge in one of BI technologies (Microsoft Power BI preferred). Previous Power BI experience with integration of maps and geographical features is appreciated.
• Knowledge of SQL queries for data conditioning and integration.
• Good Knowledge of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and DAX and/or Python.
• Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative. Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude.
• Excellent Communication Skills –efficiently communicating with both a technical and non-technical audience.
