Job summary:

An experienced subsurface/geoscience specialist with certain experience/or interest in the digital product development is required to join a team specializing in provision of digital and domain-specific technical support services in various disciplines of reservoir characterization & evaluation petrophysics, geology, geophysics, reservoir engineering etc. The team’s focus comprises but not limited to the development (optimization) of new (existing) workflows and/or digital solutions that will target certain subsurface problems, automate resource demanding repetitive events and increase the efficiency of the existing practices.

Responsibilities:

• Provide domain-specific and digital (if applicable) support to the project team of diverse backgrounds (data scientists, developers, engineers etc.) throughout all stages of the development of digital solutions starting from ideation till deployment.
• Collect and evaluate project/business requirements. Conduct research into industry-best practices and techniques, iteratively design and align a domain specific solution acceptable for the business.
• Map and/or participate/oversee all activities throughout the solution development together with other team members.
• Be in close communication with business for scoping, planning and proposing new solutions to business problems.
• Stay up to-date on digital agenda/recent trends in the reservoir characterization evaluation direction.
• Play an integrator role in connecting business domain with non-subsurface background team members.
• Prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Geosciences/Subsurface Characterization & Evaluation or related field (e.g. Petrophysics, Geology, Geophysics, or other related science and engineering fields) is required. An advanced degree is preferred. (Required)

• 4+ years of experience in domain specific projects that may be related but not limited to formation evaluation or characterization, geological and reservoir modelling, petrophysical interpretation, field development planning. (Required)
• Previous experience or involvement in the digital product/solution development in different roles including but not limited to hands-on specialist-developer, project manager, business analyst, consultant or product owner. (Highly appreciated)
• Previous hands-on experience with scripting, coding or algorithm development in Python or any other programming language. (Added Advantage)
• Previous experience with managing/supervising/consulting teams or groups of people during the delivery of the domain specific project. (Highly appreciated)
• Good presentation skills and ability to write doctorate-level research reports for publication in reputable journals. (Required)
• Good communication, problem formulation/solving and time-management skills. (Required)
• Previous experience in conducting technical research or studies in formation assessments. (Required)
• Good communication, report writing and presentation skills in English. (Required)
